Somerset Wedding Photographer – Stoberry Park, Wells

I hadn’t worked for a while as a Somerset wedding photographer so when I was asked by Jon last year to photograph his and his fiancé Jodie’s wedding at Stoberry Park  in Wells, Somerset, I was absolutely thrilled and honoured but at the same time don’t mind admitting to having just a hint of nerves: Jon has been a good friend of mine for over ten years and his best man, also a close friend, is one of the country’s finest sports and events photographers! No pressure there then…

As always, I headed down the day before to have a look at the church, attend the evening’s rehearsal as well as pay a visit to Stoberry Park and house where Jon and Jodie were to have their wedding reception and evening’s celebrations. It became apparent very quickly that Stoberry Park was going to be a quite magical place for their wedding with acres of rolling, sheep-filled fields, majestic trees and breathtaking, panoramic views across Wells including, of course, the beautiful Cathedral.

There were so many fabulous moments that took place at this wedding that there just isn’t the space to list them but what will stay with me for many years is the abundance of smiles and happy faces captured throughout the day and evening. That and the best Best Man’s speech I’m ever likely to hear…Oh, and that picture of Jon and Jodie walking up towards me (told you it would be a great picture, guys!) with the Cathedral in the background.. and did I mention the magical time when their beautiful little daughter walked in to the shot to provide us all with an unplanned but priceless moment..?
